Stephanie Traut is a freelance scenographer, set and costume designer. She has been working in film and theatre since 2012. Her experience includes feature and short films as well as music videos, classical theatre, open air plays and independent productions. Coming from a therapeutic background, her personal interest and the basis of her artistic work is the understanding and representation of people, in their beauty and ugliness in everyday life, as well as in the fantastic version of a fictional character in the literary world.
Convinced that creativity only flourishes in exchange with others, she is particularly interested in interdisciplinary and multicultural exchange. For several years she has been collaborating with various artists, including the collective "Guerrilla Architects", which realises socially critical art projects in the urban context of the metropolis, focusing on issues of political, legal and spatial grey areas.
She has worked on film productions in Germany, Spain and Poland. Theatre experience at Berlin venues such as the Berliner Ensemble, the Sophiensälen, Kampnagel in Hamburg, the Stadttheater in Freiburg and Munich, the open-air theatre at the Luisenburg and internationally at the Landestheater Salzburg.
Stephanie Traut lives in Berlin and Fuerteventura and works around Europe.
